BGD Epic 2 (65-85): The Fastest-Trimming Low B for School Graduates

The Epic 2's strengths are clearly twofold. The long, forgiving brakes and easygoing behaviour put no pressure on a pilot fresh out of school, while at the same time the fast-for-a-low-B trim and the strong floating buoyancy underpin distance flying. What you shouldn't do is read this as a high B substitute. Faster trim than the Rush 6, yes — but Bassil draws a firm line: the glide efficiency itself doesn't match the Base 2 or Rush 6. So the Epic 2's place isn't "a faster entry wing" but a wing that can carry you considerably farther while staying firmly in the entry class. For a pilot who wants to fly farther for the first time without moving up a grade, an option this stress-free is rare.
