Gin Avid — the Most Forgiving High-B Floater

The Avid's strength is unmistakable. Its weak-wind buoyancy is the best in Gin's B line, and its behaviour is docile in a way that belies its high-aspect-ratio spec. For a pilot choosing the next wing after two seasons on a low-B, it is the option where the workload barely rises while the climb clearly improves. But the other reward that aspect ratio promises — the efficiency of slicing through strong air and digging forward — never fully came alive in Bassil's hands. The note that the glide feels pinned the more you load it points precisely to this wing's boundary.
