Gin Explorer — The Light B That Hides Its 6.1 Aspect Ratio

The Explorer's strength isn't speed. It is that Gin raised the aspect ratio without passing the bill to the pilot. The wing keeps the glide that 6.1 buys you while retaining mid-B damping and margin, and it doesn't drain you on a strong day. Its XC performance is nearly level with the Carrera plus, and Bassil argues the remaining gap is closed by pilot skill anyway. That said, this wing was never built to replace the Carrera's legendary climb and glide. It concedes a little speed pushing into a headwind core, and its top end isn't generous. For a pilot chasing one more step up the performance ladder, this is not the answer. For a pilot willing to give up that step, what remains is a day spent longer in the air, more comfortably, and further out.
