U-Turn Vision (S) — When an Aspect-Ratio-6 High-B Flies Like a Mid-B

What the Vision does well is not in doubt: glide at the top of the high-B field, a speedbar that stays usable in turbulence, and a mildness of behaviour you wouldn't expect from an aspect ratio of 6. If even the recovery from a collapse feels like a wing one class below, then this glider didn't trade stability away to buy performance. But mild is not the same as easy. The span of an aspect-ratio-6 wing is still there, and the performance it offers is only returned to the pilot who can keep the bar pushed in turbulence and manage pitch with the C risers. Without that skill it stays a B that flies well. With it, it removes the reason to move up to a C for quite a while.
