Ziad Bassil's Gear Reviews

The Vega 6's strengths are clear: short, precise brakes, a turn that carves into the core, and a feel that even Photon owners enjoyed more. But that enjoyment comes with conditions. You have to accept giving up best-in-class glide, and above all you have to load the wing to the top of its range before it shows its true character. Fly it light and you get only half the agility and half the drive. So the Vega 6 is less an EN-C chasing glide numbers than a wing that answers to the pilot who grabs the controls and builds the flight. If you want the best glide, the Photon is the answer. If you want the fun of carving a thermal with your fingertips, the Vega 6 makes the stronger case.
