Niviuk Artik 5 (24) — The EN-C That Stays Quiet Overhead

The Artik 5's virtue is quietness. In turbulence the canopy stays packed together overhead, and it asks less of your hands than the Alpina 3 MS or the Sector XS. Low workload changes the back half of a long XC. And since the glide angle is also top of the class, comfort here wasn't bought by giving up performance. Comfortable is not the same as easy, though. Managing it in strong air takes a competent high-end C pilot, and getting properly into a core means loading it toward the top of the range. This wing doesn't lower the conditions for you. It gives back the capacity you would otherwise spend on the canopy — and it only pays off for a pilot who knows where to spend it.
