Ziad Bassil's Gear Reviews

The LYGHT's strengths are clear. It carries over PHOTON-grade glide intact while easing the operational load with a short, direct brake and a calmer demeanour in turbulence. Even so, the rating is still EN-C two-liner. Just as the praise for catching weak thermals comes with the caveat "if the pilot listens to his vario," the directness it hands back — inputs that answer immediately — presumes a pilot who can read those signals and handle them. This is not a wing made easier by giving up performance. It moves the same high-performance package into a lighter, more manageable feel in the hands. The sugar is gone, but everything worth having stays.
