UP Trango X-Race SM — A High-End C Aiming at D-Class Performance

At the time, this is the C wing with the highest combined score for performance, comfort and handling — and its glide runs with the 3-liner Ds. But when Bassil writes "relatively easy to manage," the baseline is inside the high-end C class. Aspect ratio 6.9, unsheathed lines, a trailing edge that answers a 1 cm input, and big ears you can't quite trust all assume a pilot who reads the air and keeps working the wing. So the X-Race is less a taste of performance before stepping up to D, and more a wing that erases the reason to buy one. A lower letter on the label doesn't mean less work for your hands.
